With over 110 standards used in more than 15,000 locations across the world, HAE is well suited to assist governments and associated agencies in improving the quality and safety of the services they deliver and of their health systems. This can span from improving policies, procedures, and practices in a variety of settings that expand beyond health care.

HAE builds on its partners’ strong record of improving health systems around the world. Our programs and services are built on evidence-based international standards that promote a culture of continuous quality improvement, safety and excellence. Working with national and regional governments, we are primed to co-create, develop and implement solutions that meet in-country needs and international mandates.

HOW WE HELP

Standards Development and Adaptation

Working collaboratively with stakeholders, HAE can:

  • Identify and co-design required standards that would serve the needs of various organizations, services or care units across the continuum of care.

  • Build on HSO’s library of over 130 standards to adapt and implement standards to suit the unique context of the country or region.

Data-Driven Assessments

HAE provide health care facilities and health care systems with several types of assessment services:

  • Assessment against standards of excellence, including readiness assessment surveys, gap analysis or online self-assessment tools.

  • Needs assessments to evaluate the current state of quality and patient safety in their system.

  • Monitoring and evaluation of quality improvement projects.

  • Development of tailor-made Assessment tools or adapting pre-existing assessment tools to the needs of the project.

Capacity Building

HAE via its international Health Care Improvement Advisors (HCIA) team provides strategic guidance and customized support to individual organizations and health systems to improve their practices, policies and service delivery via:

  • Capacity building through onsite or offsite coaching

  • Training of quality coordinators

  • Delivery of short-term education sessions and courses
