Marie Eeman
Ms. Eeman is a Program Manager and Advisor in health systems improvement in French-speaking Belgium and Luxembourg and has been an international surveyor for the enterprise since 2017.
Ms Eeman has worked as a quality and governance coordinator in the long-term care sector as a complaints manager and a quality coordinator in an 800-bed hospital, where she also coordinated their successful accreditation project. In these positions, she worked closely with ageing population, across several nursing homes with the objectives of standardizing the quality of the service delivery within the facilities. Ms. Eeman’s objective is to reconcile evidence-based practice with the needs and expectations of all stakeholders: the patient, their family members, the health professionals, the health care institution, as well as the surrounding partners.
Her expertise in risk management and a culture of safety are built around the following dimensions: risks related to care delivery, safety of patients and health professionals, and the involvement of the patient and their family in their roles and responsibilities in risk management.
Ms. Eeman is a nurse by training, having worked in palliative care, oncology, and geriatrics. She is currently a PhD candidate in risk management and holds a master’s in health services management. She has also taken various courses and certifications in hospital management, risk management, ethics, statistics, quality, and safety of care. She speaks French, Dutch and English
